Industry · Example company
The conclusion first
Nordlicht builds industrial equipment. Maintenance and spare parts generate recurring revenue. Cash remains after expenses, and debt is manageable.
Revenue: Here we mean sales: money from selling products and services. Profit: What remains after deducting costs. The share price is the price of a single ownership share in a company.
Almost a third of revenue, exactly 30%, comes from one customer. If that customer orders less, profit could fall significantly. All information is fictional.
Maintenance and spare parts generate revenue even when customers order less new equipment. This makes the business less dependent on new orders.
The largest customer contributes 30% of revenue. If it orders less, profit could fall significantly. In this example, you pay €18 for every euro of annual earnings per share. Similar companies in the fictional comparison cost 16 to 19 times their earnings. Nordlicht is therefore not particularly cheap.
Nordlicht and all its figures are fictional; there are no real reports for this example. In a real analysis, this is where you find the company reports and announcements used.
Nordlicht Industrie · Fictional history
This helps you put new information into context and compare it with an earlier assessment.
A solid business. Maintenance and spare parts generate recurring revenue. The stock is not particularly cheap.
In the new quarter, revenue rises by 8% and profit by 12%, each compared with the same quarter a year earlier.
Profit is growing faster than revenue. Whether that growth will continue remains uncertain.
In this example, the stock becomes 20% more expensive. Assumed annual earnings per share rise by 10%. You therefore pay more for each euro of assumed earnings. An attractive purchase price is still not evident.
The risk remains: One large customer contributes 30% of revenue. If it orders less, profit could suffer significantly.
Companies, events, figures and assessments are fictional. These changes are shown for explanatory purposes.
In the member area, “With analysis” shows available assessments. You can find other stocks through search. “No analysis yet” means we have assessed the company neither positively nor negatively.
What we examine for you
For selected stocks, modern AI examines company reports and official announcements. The assessment explains the reasoning, share price and main risks.
What does it sell? Who buys from it, and why do these customers choose it over competitors?
Higher revenue does not automatically mean higher profit. We look at what remains after costs.
Does it have enough money for ongoing expenses, new investments and debt?
When additional shares are issued, profit is spread across more shares. We examine how this affects your stake.
What plans does the company have? What could help or hinder the business?
We also examine the case against the stock. You can see material counterarguments and questions that remain open.
What about the share price?
A closer look is worthwhile when the business is convincing and the share price makes sense. We examine what earnings seem sustainable and how much cash remains after expenses. You can read the assumptions and counterarguments.
Stocks with a supported positive assessment appear first. A reasonable price may be enough if the business is convincing and the risks are acceptable. If important information is missing, the price question remains open. Even a positive assessment does not guarantee a rising share price.

The idea behind MARQORA

Frank Herrmann
Founder of MARQORA
Hi, I’m Frank, the creator of MARQORA.
I’m building MARQORA in Freiburg, Germany, alongside my day job. I wanted a tool I could use myself to understand companies and their share prices — without having to work through pages of financial jargon.
MARQORA brings together plain-language explanations, company figures and sources you can check for yourself. It’s free, and still growing. If something is unclear or missing, I’d like to hear about it.
Send me your idea →Three fictional news stories show how news, a related analysis and earlier assessments fit together.

MARQORA is free. You need an account to view the stock overview and available analyses in the member area. You can read the public sample analyses without signing in.
You can find stocks included in MARQORA on supported US exchanges and stocks of German companies. The “With analysis” filter takes you to available assessments. Not every stock is included or analyzed.
For stocks with an available analysis, you can read about the business, opportunities, share price and risks. Use “With analysis” to find these companies directly. Other stocks remain searchable and are labeled accordingly.
An interesting stock gives you a reason to look more closely. Even a good business can have a high share price. Consider the business’s strengths, risks and valuation together. If reliable information is missing, the price assessment remains open. You decide whether to research further or invest.
Your watchlist collects stocks that interest you. In “My stocks,” you manually enter which stocks you own and how many shares you hold. This keeps both your ideas and your own entries in view. Explore the watchlist and tools →
Stored prices for US stocks are generally updated once per US trading day after the market closes. German stocks also show their respective price timestamp. These are not continuous real-time prices. Price timestamps and analysis dates are displayed separately. New analyses are created when warranted, not for every price change. Earlier published assessments remain available to read.
MARQORA checks information against sources and recalculates important results. Errors can still occur. Not all stocks and news are covered. Check important information yourself before making a decision.
MARQORA helps with your research. You make the decision and any stock purchase yourself. An analysis can offer guidance, but cannot promise profits.
